I AM THE KEY ELEMENT!

My name is Mariam and I live at the Nakivale Settlement.

In this world in which we live, when we are told about a refugee somewhere, we are implying that she is incapable of doing anything in life. And especially when you are a woman it becomes harder because it is known that feminity is associated with the household chores and yet she is also capable to do more.

By participating in this entrepreneurship workshop, I was inspired by many things that I did not know before. In this, I learned that apart from money one can start a business, by putting my strength, my knowledge as well as my experience so it is “ME” who is the driving force behind my work.

In this session, therefore the fourth one interests me a lot because before we were doing a business without taking account of narrative, proof of payment. And even we didn’t know that buying something without keeping record of it is also very important. Just as much important as knowing when we want to do or how to differentiate the product, which requires also a stock document containing the inputs and outputs.

As I wrap up, I have the idea of doing a business on selling clothes for babies, when I would have done this I will do my best to maintain the business and not to go bankrupt. While putting what I just learned into action I am convinced that my business will be a success as I now know that I am the key element.
